At Timbertherm, we offer bespoke services in designing and installing a range of engineered solid timber windows and doors. Now, alongside all of our traditional designs, we are offering a more contemporary line – our all-new Combi Line Alu Clad Range.
Alu-clad windows and doors consist of a combination of aluminium and timber frames, enhancing their design and offering a range of benefits such as low maintenance, increased weather protection and a high level of thermal efficiency, all while giving a look that is modern, stylish and natural.
Alu Clad Top-Swing and Side-Swing Windows
Top-swing and side-swing windows are similar to traditional hung-casement windows but contain a few adjustments, such as the ability to reverse completely into your room, allowing them to be cleaned and maintained — hassle-free — from the inside. These window types are incredibly practical and designed with smooth, strong hinges, making a perfect addition to any room in your property. All of our alu clad products have wood interior facing finishes to add a really nice touch.
Alu Clad Fixed Windows
Fixed windows are perfect for both common and bespoke ideas, coming in a variety of shapes and sizes, from traditional square and rectangular windows to triangular windows. The varying sizes of these windows can also mean they can serve to create unique areas of natural light as well as compliment bespoke rooms or areas that require the perfect matching shape.
Our alu clad fixed windows also have wood facing interior finishes to add a very aesthetically pleasing finish.
Features
All of our new window types are manufactured from FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certified softwood timber, which is laminated and finger jointed in order to provide the most complete combination of quality and stability.
All of our new alu-clad window types can be supplied in the full range of RAL or NCS colours, using water-based coating systems to protect the wood and prevent it from getting discoloured by fungi.
Our top-swing and side-swing windows come with Norwegian SPILKA hinges, meaning that individual sashes can be manufactured up to 80kg for top-swing windows and up to 40kg for side-swing windows.
Our top-swing and fixed windows are also available with fire-rated glass, providing protection from flames for up to 30 minutes.
Our new window types still undergo our same step-by-step process, where we talk to you and work together to create your perfect window. You’ll still be able to customise the style, colour, type of finish and whether you want any additional features. We’ll review each step of the design process with you so you’re fully satisfied with your design before committing from paper.
On top of this, all these windows have the aforementioned benefits of alu-clad — you’ll be getting durable, low-maintenance windows that still offer the natural warmth and beauty of timber but with a modern, improved finish.
All of our windows use engineered solid timber, one of the best, most durable solid woods on the market and, keeping with our eco-friendly ethos, we only use wood that is sustainably sourced. Our windows come with modern, concealed safety and security features as well as using high performing, Argon gas-filled, double glazed sealed units. This allows our products to be very thermally efficient, achieving low energy u-values, which can be upgraded by using coated glazing.
Alu Clad Balcony Doors
Our Alu Clad balcony doors can be made to open both inwards or outwards and come as either single or double doors, with bespoke arrangements also possible upon request. We offer a range of features for our balcony doors, from the type of glazing and a range of colours and type of finish. Being Alu Clad it creates an external ‘weather shield’ for the timber providing a highly durable external finish which is very easy to maintain as well as providing a modern, contemporary look. Providing the best of both worlds by having a natural warm appearance of timber as well as having a sleek, robust & low maintenance exterior with aluminium.

Outward opening balcony doors are fitted with a blow-back restrictor, providing increased protection to the hinges.
All balcony doors can be double or triple glazed and come in a variety of options such as toughened safety, laminated, acoustic and solar.

Alu Clad Bi-fold doors make a perfect addition to areas prone to high sunlight and help create a beautiful, natural light environment. Designed by one of the best companies in the business, Solarlux, the all-new alu-clad range creates a sleek, smooth folding door that still retains the aesthetic of natural timber but now has improved durability, energy efficiency, safety and lower maintenance.
Create a high-quality living space with a special ambience by adding the Solarlux Bi-Folding doors to your home. Made of wood from sustainable forestry it helps to provide a unique atmosphere and provides the door with some individual character. By having a large opening door it really helps to keep you close to nature in every regard. The aluminium exterior adds a premium cover shell to help protect the timber elements from the external influences of the weather.
Features
The bi-fold doors use FSC® and PEFC-certified woods. A variety of individual finishes are included (waxed, oiled, varnished or opaque) from manufacturers such as Sikkens, Remmers, Teknos, Adler and many more.
Our bi-fold doors have a glass thickness of 28-48mm, an overall depth of 86mm and a max panel height of 2800mm.
Fitted Aluminium shells give these doors an outstanding weather resistance.
Alu Clad Lift and Slide Door
Alu Clad lift and slide doors are perfect for maintaining a near even surface on the floor and take up minimal space when they open or close. Also designed by Solarlux, they are a perfect entrance and exit for those using a wheelchair and can complement a minimalist, naturalistic setting. With alu-clad, these doors now have improved wind resistance and durability without looking bulky or less elegant.

The types of openings include: twin panels with one sliding panel and four panels with two centre-sliding panels.
An individual panel can open up to 4.3m with the total width of two centre-sliding panels being 9m.
