Timbertherm helped renovate this late 19th Century building by replacing its old timber windows with seven sash windows and one casement window.
Specification
The previous owners of Mr and Mrs Austin’s Sisted property had already made renovations to the home, including some of the sash windows. The original timber windows situated at the front of the house were in a poor state, and included ornate architrave mouldings which Mr and Mr Austin wished to keep the details of as they completed the renovations to the late 19th Century building.
Mrs Austin explains, “We knew we wanted timber frames. We had used uPVC before, but we didn’t like the look of them. As we were working on an old period property, it was not possible to use uPVC and in-keep with the overall look and conservation of the property.”
Mr Austin discovered Timbertherm Windows as he drove past the showroom, based in Coggeshall, everyday on his way to work. He made the initial phone call to arrange a site visit. “The whole process was very smooth, quick and easy. Everyone was very professional and courteous – when letting people come and work in your home, you need to have a good gut feeling about the representatives of the company. Communication with Timbertherm was great throughout the process, just enough so that we knew when everyone would be coming.”
Mr and Mrs Austin ordered seven sash windows and one casement in our standard white finish on the outside and cream on the inside, completed with brass ironmongery.
Review
“The process from initial contact with Timbertherm to installation was very quick and easy. Everyone at Timbertherm was professional, communication was great and the fitters were very pleasant. As a customer having sash windows fitted, it can be quite worrying to think about the amount of disruption involved. However, this was a lot less than expected – the windows were fitted with minimal damage to the décor. We were very happy throughout the process.” – Mrs Austin.
